Eggholder

The purpose of this project was to build object that holds an egg 1 meter from the ground. The reason why stays a bit vague, but it was an interesting approach. It was interesting to let go of the ratio and practical aspect of product design. The project taught me a lot about intuitive building and the beauty of letting the process guide the way. The idea was to build a big tree with the egg sitting in the top, or the nest as you might interpret it. The end result was kind of flimsy, but therefore gave it a cool dimension. The whole tree was able to move around and the egg was sitting relatively safe in the ‘spring’ of steel thread. This interplay between safety and danger was a fascinating and unexpected outcome of this project.
